I am Jennifer. I have the most popular girl’s name in the year I was born. Believe it or not, I am actually okay with that. I have embraced it and, though many people now want to name their children “something different” I love that I never have to spell or explain my name. I’m actually okay with being one of many in name. I make myself different and unique because of who I am.
People call me Jennifer, Jenni, Jen, and more.
I am left-handed and THAT’S what I embrace as one of my many uniquinesses. I LOVE being left-handed. Though I have no children as of yet, I secretly hope that any children we might have be left-handed.
I am married to The Husband. We both work in Child Development; but we both work in very different parts of it. He is a teacher (and a very good one…earned himself a teacher of the year award). I run a children’s program in a large, well known, organization for troubled children 0 to 17 years old.
We are Orthodox Christians (Greek to be more precise) and have been married since 2006. We had a fabulous Greek Orthodox wedding which felt much more like a community event than most weddings today…and I loved it! People STILL talk about it.
I love doing things, being busy, and learning new things. My favorite thing to do is discover new ways to cook from scratch in the kitchen. If I can make crackers rather than buy them, I often will (though sometimes time constraints make me fall back on buying, but when I get a chance, I cook from scratch). There are a few things that I never buy anymore: bread, pita bread, and yogurt are amongst the list.
In July of 2011, I decided to delete moy posts and start from scratch. This blog is now about my everyday life and just talking about who I am.
I am married to The Husband, have a twenty-something stepson, and a granddog (The Stepson’s dog). We also have a pet gecko. That’s our little family and I couldn”t ask for anything more at this time.
